St. Paul Ballet Performs “Carmen” in the 1920s

St Paul Ballet Carmen in the 20s

St. Paul Ballet will complete its season in 1920s New York City. Carmen is an original ballet by Artistic Director Zoé Emilie Henrot with music by composer Richard Erickson.

The St. Paul Ballet brings audiences at The O’Shaughnessy in St. Paul back to the F. Scott Fitzgerald era with a fresh adaptation on the 1875 opera, Carmen, by French composer Georges Bizet.  St. Paul Ballet fuses a multitude of local Minnesota artists together to create and revisit a celebrated time period.

Zoé and Richard stopped by the Jazz88 studios to talk about this weekend’s upcoming performances.

Originally aired Wednesday, May 9th on the Morning Show with Emily Reese.
