LSS Daily Living: Housing Assistance during the Pandemic

Last fall, Governor Tim Walz announced that funding would be available through a new Minnesota’s COVID-19 Relief Fund to help renters and homeowners who had fallen behind on rent, mortgage or other housing costs. That program, called the Covid-19 Housing Assistance Program, ended in December.

But Congress approved funds for emergency rental assistance that will be available in 2021 – which is great news for renters who are struggling to remain in their homes. Michele Fournier, with LSS Housing Services, is talking with us today about the impact of the pandemic on housing for Minnesotans and how the emergency assistance might be able to help.
