We at Jazz88 are thrilled and honored to be presenting a celebration of four resident jazz legends in a special concert at Crooners Supper Club on Sunday, May 1st at 3:30 PM, and I’ll be your host! I am looking forward to reminiscing with three Minnesota jazz legends who have achieved local and national acclaim: recording artist and Minnesota Music Hall of Fame inductee, Linda Peterson, trumpeter, big band leader, and former Professor Emeritus at Gustavus Adolphus College, Dr. Steve Wright, and author & bassist, Ollie Lyle, who performed with Carole Martin and Percy Hughes in some of the most prestigious jazz clubs of the 1960s. A special tribute will also be paid to a fourth legend, the late Brazilian pianist, Manfredo Fest, who lived and worked extensively in the Twin Cities for two decades.
These jazz legends will entertain with music that they love, and discuss how their individual journeys
have become a part of the musical history of Minnesota. They’ll be accompanied by the Phil Aaron Trio, featuring Phil Aaron (piano), Kevin Clements (bass), and Phil Hey (drums).
This performance will be live streamed from Crooners’ Facebook page and recorded for a later broadcast. It will also be archived for on demand listening right here, at Jazz88.fm.
This production of Minnesota Jazz Legends is made possible through funding provided by the
