DESCRIPTION:From local favorites to emerging new talent\, the Sunset Series is a showcase for great talent from all genres. \nJoin us Thursday evenings\, mid-June though mid-August at 7pm in Downtown Park\, 40 Ninth Avenue S\, Hopkins. Bring a chair and some friends! \nIf there’s rain\, we’ll announce we’re moving indoors by 3pm day of concert. \nKelly Blau is an up and coming jazz guitarist from the Twin Cities. Influenced by jazz guitar greats John Scofield and Julian Lage. Blau began playing blues and jazz at a very young age\, performing in college jazz ensembles and Indie bands in southern Minnesota for the past five years. His style blends elements of jazz\, blues and bluegrass. Aside from jazz\, he also performs with singer-songwriters such as Lydia Liza and Rachel Hanson. Blau is a new generation of artists bringing refreshing new talent to the genre.

DESCRIPTION:Sam Miltich is a self-taught jazz guitarist born and raised in the woods of northern Minnesota. Sam burst on to the hot club jazz scene in his teens\, joining Paul Mehling’s Hot Club of San Francisco and touring internationally with the world-renowned Robin Nolan Trio. Sam’s fluid and instinctive sound has graced hundreds of stages\, from small town bars on the Iron Range to New York’s Lincoln Center.\nBeginning in his early twenties\, Sam performed as a duo and toured with Minnesota mandolin master Peter Ostroushko. In 2010\, Sam received a grant to study intensively with Belgian guitar icon Fapy Lafertin and has since then received many more regional and state arts grants to further his musical development and creative projects.
