DESCRIPTION:Experience the history and breadth of Uruguayan music\, and its impact throughout the Americas through this showcase of jazz piano and other instruments\, and beloved Uruguayan songs\, woven together with Candombe drumming . Led by renowned historian and musician Tomás Olivera Chirimini\, the group is comprised of visiting artists direct from Montevideo\, Uruguay\, together with local musicians. \nTaste Uruguayan empanadas from La Estancia Steakhouse\, alfajores and other delicious treats from Criollas Pastries\, and try the ubiquitous yerba mate. \nBy wonderful coincidence\, the performance will be followed by an Uruguayan film\, A Bright Future\, presented by the Minneapolis St Paul International Film Festival\, also at the Landmark Center.
