SUMMARY:37th annual Minnesota State Sacred Harp Singing Convention
DESCRIPTION:We invite you to sing with us on September 26 2026\, at the Minnesota State Sacred Harp Convention! \nLocation: Olivet Congregational Church\, 1850 Iglehart Ave\, St Paul\, MN 55104\nTime: 9:30am to 3:00pm. No need to be there for the entire event; come when you can and leave when you must. \n12 PM: Free potluck dinner. (If you’re not able to bring anything\, please come anyway and be our guest. There will be plenty of food!– \nSacred Harp\, or shape-note\, singing is a 200-year-old tradition of singing songs from The Sacred Harp. The notes are written in shapes to aid in sight singing. There’s no rehearsal; singers just sing through one song and go on to the next. Singing is full-throated and powerful. \nWe are friendly and we welcome new people\, so come on over and see what it’s all about!
