Ashby brings special guests to perform alongside him.\nMusical style: The performances immerse audiences in contemporary jazz infused with neo-soul and pop.\nPerformance venue: The Hopkins Depot is renovated train depot.\nEvent progression: The events are designated with volume numbers\, such as House of Jazz Vol. II and House of Jazz Vol. III\, to signify new installments.\nAudience: The event is promoted as being for the “Mature Adult” and promises a relaxing experience with music that speaks to the soul.\nAbout theperformers:(in alphabetical order) \nWenso Ashby\, aka (Wenso Ashby Hall)\, is an American contemporary jazz pianist\, song writer and prolific composer creating music characterized as a blend of Neo-soul\, pop and smooth jazz. \nAshby hasn’t always been a jazz pianist\, in fact he established himself behind the scenes in the East Coast area doing production and ghost writing for major artists in hip-hop and r&b. As faith would have it\, he was encouraged by Artist Management (Amanda Fielding) to move beyond his work as a hip-hop and r&B to begin showcasing his own playing and writing talents. \nHe recorded and released his first album “Midnite Walkin” then relocated back to Minneapolis. He was signed to a distribution deal with Huber Entertainment which subsequently lead to Grammy consideration and an invite to the Grammy Awards. No nominations\, however it brought him national attention. He has multiple albums including his most recent “The Perfect Flow” which features a variety of recognizable artists. \nWenso Ashby Featuring Zsamé\,were in high demand andshared the stage with other artistslike\,Reubuen Suddard\, Kenny Latimore\, Kim Waters and bassist Gerald Veasley. \nJ. Michelle Caldwell\, a native of St. Paul/Minneapolis\, Minnesota\, is a versatile classically trained singer\, excelling in Jazz\, Blues\, R&B\, and Gospel. \nShe has toured as well as recorded on the National Circuit as a Lead & Background Singer. Some of her credits include working with Ray Charles\, Michael Bolton\, Christopher Williams\, and Twsin Cities based The Steeles. \nHer debut EP “Can You Relate” is receiving high praise and is available on all platforms. \nDavid Eiland\,(born in St. Louis\, Missouri) is an Americanmusician\, composer\, recording artist and producer. Eiland is a multi-instrumentalist playing saxophones\, guitar\, bass\,keyboards\, drums\, Aerophone\, Lyricon\,EWI(Electronic Wind Instrument)& DWI(Digital Wind Instrument). He is a MMA Brass/Reed player of the year Award recipient. He is also a founding member of the phenomenal Flyte Tyme Band. \nDavid is in high demand and has recorded and performed with prominent national artists such as Janet Jackson\, David Bowie\, Jonny Lang\, Cherrelle\, and Alexander O’neal to name a few. Eiland continues to be active in the music community\, including touring with national acts\, performing with twin cities based bands and local churches. \nSide Note: We recently got to play as a trio for the first time on the MSR Yacht Cruise. It was amazing. David brought his guitar along with his tenor sax and his Digital Wind Instrument. The vibe was such a feeling that I just want to share it with others. My good friend Roxie called and reminded me of the perfect venue in Hopkins. It is small and the right place to experience The House of Jazz. \n*Tickets are limited and we made it very affordable\, so I encourage you not to wait until the last minute for this show. \nPlenty of free parking.
