Celebrate some of Minnesota’s most notable jazz legends with Patty Peterson in an intimate afternoon of live music and inspiring stories with several Twin Cities’ jazz legends who have achieved local and national acclaim.
These artists will entertain with their favorite music and discuss how their journeys became a part of Minnesota music history. Set in a live concert/radio format, guests will experience what the musical environment was like in the Twin Cities in the second half of the 20th century and how it shaped today’s thriving jazz scene. The performance will be recorded for later broadcast on Jazz88 and will be archived on the station’s website.
Patty will reminisce with several Twin Cities’ jazz legends, who have achieved local and national acclaim. Among these notable are Carei Thomas (Piano), Steve Blons (Guitar), Dean Brewington (Sax), George Avaloz (Drums/Vocals),Kenny Horst (Drums), Carole Martin (Vocals) and Betty Palmer (Vocals).
They’ll will be accompanied by the Phil Aaron Trio, featuring Phil Aaron (piano), Gary Rayor (Bass) and Phil Hey (Drums). Our jazz legends will entertain all with music that they love, and discuss how their individual journeys have become the musical history of Minnesota.
