Other Ways to Support Jazz88

Business Sponsorship

Sponsoring programming on Jazz88 is a strategic way to connect with a highly educated, affluent, well- traveled, and culturally discriminating audience.

Dave Dworkin Scholarship Fund

Dave Dworkin was a long-time Twin Cities broadcaster who passed away in 2018. Dave did high-profile airshifts and assisted in the programming of KQRS, and also worked at KDWB-FM, KS95, KJJO, WRQC and KMFY.

The Dave Dworkin Scholarship Fund supports Jazz88’s Jazz With Class educational program. North High School students enrolled in the radio broadcasting curriculum are trained in commercial and news writing,   sound and script editing and on-air/show preparation. These students are greatly assisted by this fund and   your contribution is welcomed. Click the link above in support of the next generation of radio broadcasters.

Be sure to indicate your gift is for the “Jazz88-Dave Dworkin Scholarship Fund” in the Designation section.

Checks should be made payable to: AchieveMpls-Dave Dworkin Scholarship Fund and mailed to, AchieveMpls at 2829 University Ave SE, Suite #850, Minneapolis, MN 55414.

Art Colberg Scholarship

As a KBEM student intern, Art Colberg mastered the microphone with his passion for radio. Art often worked with other student broadcasters at Minneapolis North High to help them sharpen their skills and grow in the radio program at Jazz88.

Art graduated in 2001 and moved on to SCSU to major in mass communications and continue in radio.

Unfortunately, in 2004 Art died in a canoe accident after completing his Junior year in college. The Colberg family and KBEM staff established the Arthur Colberg Memorial Scholarship for graduating seniors who excel in the North High radio curriculum. Since 2005 a total of $39,000 in scholarships has been distributed to 18 students.

Frank Engdahl Fund

For many student interns, working at KBEM is their very first job.  They earn a paycheck.  Their confidence grows. They learn how to communicate effectively and develop job skills vital to nearly any career. The Frank Engdahl Fund supports the salaries and administration of the student intern program.
