Host and producer Patty Peterson shares moments from the studio and the stage where these local icons and their admirers discuss their musical journeys and showcase their continued artistry. The live performances by the Legends are accompanied by pianist Phil Aaron and his trio, featuring Graydon Peterson on bass and drummer Phil Hey.

On the significance of this annual event, Patty Peterson shares: “I love being a part of preserving the history of jazz in Minnesota. Celebrating these artists showcases how jazz remains a vital and thriving art form in our community and beyond.”

The broadcast special is available for streaming now on the Jazz Legends page. On air, the program debuted June 29 and also aired July 4.  Another broadcast is likely on Labor Day, September 1, at noon.

Minnesota Jazz Legends is made possible through funding from the Minnesota Legacy Amendment Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund and Jazz88.
