With Sean’s transition from full-time to volunteer status comes an exciting job opening.  We are seeking our next Music Director/Afternoon Host to champion America’s music, connect with audiences, and mentor students at one of the nation’s premier voices for jazz.  This is a full-time, on-site, union position with benefits, for an experienced broadcaster with a love and understanding of jazz.  Candidate review begins September 10.  Review the official posting and apply here.

Looking for a structured but flexible opportunity to apply your talents and help Minnesota’s jazz station do its important work? Consider if one of these current volunteer openings is right for you. Activities are scalable from a few hours a month to 12 hours a week. If one or more sound like a fit for you, email us for a consultation and tour.

Events/Member Drive Ambassador
With our development and marketing staff, engage the public and assist with setup/teardown of Jazz88 public events including our presence at the Selby Avenue Jazz Fest on September 13, and potential other events.  Help fellow Jazz88 fans become members by taking their phone calls during the Fall Drive, October 3-11.

Live Music Calendar Booker
Update the popular Jazz88 Live Music Calendar with a robust listing of jazz, blues and roots music performances in the Twin Cities as provided by venue websites, press releases and performers’ communications/updates.

Music Production & Technical Assistant
Work with hosts, studios and audio editing systems to help programs and other on-air elements come together. Edit songs in our broadcast library for smoother playback.  Set up and maintain physical CD and LP library. Clean and help maintain equipment and studio spaces, perform routine equipment checks, provide roadie-level help with recording sessions and live remotes.

PSA/Public Affairs Booker
Based on communications coming into the station and your own research, write public service announcements to provide awareness of community issues and solutions. Voiceover work optional. Help to handle and research Morning Show interview guests.
