Yonci speaks with Eli Awada of local crew Room3, ahead of their residency at Berlin, Sundays in November 2026.

Room3 is a jazz fusion wild card rooted in tradition yet driven by experimentation. Their sound is imaginative, melodic, and rhythmically sharp, mixing elements of bebop, contemporary jazz, prog rock, funk, and more. The collective operates out of Minneapolis and most commonly appears as a five-piece, with Eli Awada on keyboards, Wormdove (aka Beck Anderson) on bass, RAWTWHYLAH (aka Colin Mitchell) on drums, Evan Espinoza Robles on percussion, and Mike Green on guitar. Room3 has performed at prestigious venues across the Twin Cities for over three years and recently received the 2026 McKnight Artist Fellowship for Musicians, administered by the MacPhail Center for Music. Their debut album, Bill’s Garden, is out now on all streaming platforms.
