Adrian Younge, co-founder of the analog-forward collective “Jazz is Dead” (alongside Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest, Andrew Lojero, and Adam Block), will perform a 90 minute immersive set blending jazz and psychedelic soul on Saturday, August 1 outside of Indeed Brewing’s NE Minneapolis taproom. To kick things off, the rare collaborative project of Twin Cities music mainstays Aby Wolf, Kavyesh Kaviraj, Pete James Johnson, and the Laurels String Quartet, will perform at 7pm.
In addition – DJ Blue Funk sets the mood with a curated selection of vinyl from 4-7pm Off the Dock and Kevin Gamble’s jazz fusion ensemble, KG4, ends the night in the Ox taproom with a late night set at 10pm following the conclusion of the main stage performances. A wide selection of food and Indeed beverages, including the limited edition Jazz is Dead Dip Hop IPA, will be available throughout the day!
