Junior Iron Chef Student Chefs

The 4th annual Junior Iron Chef Competition took place at Solar Arts by Chowgirls on Thursday, May 10. Four teams, comprised of two middle-school-aged students and one adult chef, cooked two dishes on the fly in 60 minutes and presented it to the eight celebrity judges. Jazz88’s Emily Reese and Justus Sanchez went to the event and spoke with Kate Seybold, the Farm-to-School Coordinator for MPS; Tracy Singleton, owner of the Birchwood Cafe; and the winning students. The winning chef was Chef Joe Surisook from Sen Yai Sen Lek, and the winning students were Damont Jones, a 6th grader from Northeast Middle School, and 7th grader Zofia Anderson-Kita from Justice Page Middle School.

Originally aired Thursday, May 17 on the Morning Show with Emily Reese.
