Astronomy Town is an indie jazz group based right here in the Twin Cities! Their first EP, Welcome To Astronomy Town, is a great introduction for what to expect when listening to them: a mix of jazz, lo-fi, and lounge. The track “Coffee & Guinness” lures you into a dreamlike state with the graceful keyboard of Joe Twohy, accompanied by Cassandra Johnson on guitar, Michael Mooridian on bass, and of course, the super cool drumming of Robb Lauer! This quartet has some awesome chemistry! Their bandmate relationship is on point, as their styles of playing complement each other so well. I am looking forward to more from Astronomy Town, but in the meantime, check out Welcome To Astronomy Town!
