Hot New Local Single: Liz Draper

Hot New Liz Draper
This week’s Hot New Local Single “Prayer for Mim in the Color of Marigold” is contemplative and ambient and serves as a dedication to the late Mimi Parker of Low. Bassist Liz Draper has been playing with a variety of folk, rock and jazz artists throughout her career. Having performed with Charlie Parr, The Okee Dokee Brothers, Iris DeMent, Pieta Brown, Duluth trio, Low and even Soul Asylum, it’s refreshing to see for the first time, a solo release from Draper. Liz recently released The 4 song collection, Meno on 10” “opaque dreamsicle” vinyl. Performed on upright and electric bass, each piece features improvisations and meditations in what Draper calls “Classical-Doom-Folk-Jazz.”
